Free book on Economics of Coronavirus
Another week, and yes the coronavirus is still with us. For most of the past month, I haven’t felt much disrupted by quarantine. Working from home is pretty easy for my job, and we already homeschool our children.
But then my sister got married, and we couldn’t attend. That was rough.
I’m sorry for what you’re missing right now. I hope you can adapt, and I pray that we’ll be able to escape this virus soon.
Free Book
Maybe you’ve been able to use this time to finish projects or improve yourself. Maybe seeing other people accomplish things is driving you crazy.
While I’ve been constantly refreshing twitter, a friend of mine in quarantine wrote a whole book. He wanted to explain some of the economic principles at play with coronavirus. He has made the book free online (at least for the next month). Check it out if you’re interested in applying economics to the current situation.
ECN 3600
Wow! When I told my department I wanted to teach a class on economic development, they said most new classes struggle to attract students. They said I would be lucky if 10 registered.
Well after the first week of registration, a whopping 33 registered! Thank you so much for your interest. I’m thinking about this class daily and hope to make it a unique learning experience.
If you’re interested, there is still space.
Salaries by Major
Did you know the money your professor makes can tell you something about demand for different majors? I explain the principle in this week’s video, and I even show real data from an unnamed public university.
