Book Club is Back!

IN THE MARKET POWER BOOK CLUB, MEMBERS WILL BE ABLE TO:

• Discuss a book each month

• Discuss current events and research

• Ask questions about education paths

• Share tips about finding careers

This is the second 6-month round of the book club. Why 6 months? Too many communities start as undefined discussion groups, and they always unravel and produce little value. By starting with a set time period, we can better assess whether the community is reaching its goal to produce the greatest value.

WHAT BOOKS ARE WE READING?

There are two clusters in this round. First, there’s Economics of Marginalized Groups. Second, we will read a cluster focused on Conflict. Here are the 6 books and the dates we will hold a video call discussion:

1. Sharing the Prize: The Economics of the Civil Rights Revolution in the American South – February 12

2. Career and Family: Women’s Century-Long Journey toward Equity – March 12

3. The Cultural Revolution: A People’s History, 1962―1976 – April 9

4. TBD (Book Club will vote) – May 7

5. Why We Fight: The Roots of War and the Paths to Peace – June 4

6. Streets of Gold: America’s Untold Story of Immigrant Success – July 2

MEMBERSHIP LEVELS

There are two membership levels. The full membership (one-time payment of $100) gets you invitations to my interview with the author. I’m hoping we’ll have at least 3 authors meet with us, but this depends on author availability.

The basic membership costs just $5/month (one-time payment of $30). With it, you’ll have access to the message board and the monthly group calls.

Please note that we have discretion to remove bad actors from the community without issuing a refund. Indeed, all sales are final and no refunds will be issued even if you stop participating in the community. So please take that into consideration before registering.
